Employers are required to put in place effective and adequate measures to protect staff against potential hazards and risks.

The hierarchy of controls;

Subject to calculated expenses with respect to the cost of establishing health and safety measures at their workplace, employers are allowed to make necessary and relevant considerations until they arrive at an ideal and cost-effective solution. Some areas of consideration include;

  • Elimination
  • Substitution,
  • Source risk control
  • Training, instruction and supervision
  • Personal protective equipment
